Former Primary Opponents Lining Up Behind 34th LD’s Joe Nguyen
BURIEN, WA – The Nguyen campaign just two weeks ago announced their endorsement by US Congresswoman Pramila Jayapal. Now, former primary election opponents and numerous local elected officials have followed suit.
Showing continued momentum, Joe Nguyen, the State Senate candidate in the 34th Legislative District is excited to announce that four of his former opponents from the primary race, Lisa Devereau, Lois Schipper, Annabel Quintero, and Lem Charleton have all have lent their names and energy to the growing list of supporters for Team Nguyen.
Additionally, Burien City Council Members Nancy Tosta, Austin Bell and Krystal Marx all have endorsed the Nguyen campaign.
Nguyen said, “I’m honored to have the support of so many community leaders, and I’m working every single day to ensure their constituents have a voice in the political process. People want lawmakers that are going to listen, not just legislate. Too often people are being left behind and our politicians are seemingly more focused on their careers. We want to change that narrative, and this support from community leaders shows we’re doing just that”
If elected, Nguyen will be the first legislator of color from the 34th District, and one of only a handful of Vietnamese-American legislators across the country.
The 34th Legislative District includes Vashon Island, West Seattle, White Center and Burien.
